Daily Dose of Dapper: Strawberry Fields Forever

I don’t know what it is, but I’m mesmerized by strawberries (and pistachios, but that’s a whole other story for a different post). Mom and dad have been buying a lot lately from the local farmer’s market, and whenever mom washes a couple to eat I’m right there next to her watching her eat them. They’re just so juicy looking I can’t help it, and always lick a few of them when she’s not looking. I never actually bite into them, but just really enjoy licking the water off of them and from the bottom of the bowl. Any other cats do this, or is it just me?

Must be just you, last year I had about 50 pounds of them all over the kitchen to freeze and make jam and no one was interested. Those look really good though- I don’t blame you.

Angel and Taz both loved fruit. Angel used to steal the tops of strawberries. Now I always cut up little bits of whatever fruit I’m eating or I’ll have a cat licking every piece I have! Angel will lick a small watermelon triangle wedge right down to the rind! Taz loved pears and apples and they both loved Christmas oranges (mandarins). The vet said it was fine to give then fruit, but I’ve heard you’re not supposed to give them grapes. Enjoy those berries!

Wow more cats like me, I was beginning to think I just had strange tastes! Thanks for letting us know about the grapes. Maybe mom should start cutting up some strawberries for me to eat then! 🙂 xo Tux
