We spent the last weekend in Wine Country at Grandma and Grandpa’s house again, and most of the time I could be found curled up on my favorite couch. But mom made the couch even more snuggly by wrapping a warm blanket (fresh from the dryer) around me. Pure kitty bliss! I fell right asleep and stayed in that spot until the sun went down.
I’m a little shadow – wherever mom and dad go in the house, I have to follow them around. So naturally, when they’re cooking dinner I’m right there beside them (usually on the counter). Yesterday I was helping them by watching over the tomatoes and making sure they didn’t roll away – a very important job in the kitchen. I don’t know what they’d do without my help!
Tuna broth flavored ice water, to be exact. Do you remember the post I did a couple of weeks ago with the video of those little kitties licking the ice ball (click here for a reminder)? Well, we had another heat wave come through San Francisco this past weekend and decided to try it out! Mom froze some of my favorite broth treat (for flavor) with some water in these cool circular ice molds. She let it sit overnight in the freezer, and then next day popped it out into a little bowl to catch the water while it melted. Well…it was a nice thought, but just didn’t interest me. I wandered over, sniffed it and batted at it a couple of times, gave it a couple of licks, and then lost interest. She left it out for an hour to see if I wandered back over, but I just wasn’t into it. Maybe it needed more flavoring? Maybe I would have been more interested if it was in a different bowl? Who knows, but it was a valiant effort on moms part. Has anyone else tried this?
It’s true friends, on Saturday I officially entered the terrible twos! I celebrated with a bowl of my favorite moist food and by immediately tearing apart my birthday present (a new scratching post – see photo evidence). It was a great day that also included lots of mommy cuddles and nap time – I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday!
No matter how old you get, there’s always the one favorite stuffed animal you can never get rid of. I’ve had Lambie since my parents brought me home at 2 months old, and she’s still my top choice for nap time snuggles. She might be a little dirty now (okay, a LOT dirty), and the fur is all matted, but I love her and carry her around everywhere with me. Look how clean she used to be back in the day! Do you have a favorite stuffed animal or snuggle toy?
So last week mom had a photo shoot (she picks out and styles the clothing for fashion shoots) and I helped her! Well, I sat on a stack of clothes and watched her organize things. But I don’t think she was too happy when she saw my new “resting spot” on top of the garment bags. But it just looked so comfy and I wanted to be involved! Everything was solved though by her locking away the clothes in another room and rewarding me with treats for all my hard work.
I’m trying a different point of view today…I’m going to look at everything from upside down! Getting a new perspective on life, ya know? For example, I never realized how interesting the ceiling could be! I found a bug up there, as well as spots of light that move across it as cars go by the window. I also find it quite comfortable and relaxing…in fact, maybe it’s time for a nap. This new perspective can be exhausting!
