Tux Tuesday: Itch Relief

My product pick today isn’t your typical cat toy or item – in fact, I think it might be for humans. But I don’t really care because it’s pretty amazing. It gives very nice chin scratches and is also fun to bat at. Even better, mom says they are super cheap and easy to find around Chinatown or at a dollar store. Chin scratches for everyone!

Daily Dose of Dapper: Purrito (Part 2)

Tux purrito

When I get really excited I start running around the house at full speed, which can sometimes disrupt the rugs and chairs. The rug at the front door always seems to suffer the most (even with a non-slip rug pad under it!), usually ending up pushed against the front door or the wall. This time I pushed it into the hall closet door and decided to take advantage of the way it had curled up to make a purrito! So this is my version of a rug purrito, not to be confused with my sheet purrito.

Feline Friends Friday: How Cats Say “I Love You”

Cats have many ways of expressing their love, and this adorable video by Cole and Marmalade outlines them for us. Aww, Tux does all of these, he must love his mom and dad! Though sometimes we think the “love bites” are a little too “loving.” Did you know all of these cat displays of affection?

Cat Lady Covets: Paw Doorstop

Paw doorstop

If you are a cat owner, you can definitely relate to the above image. Without fail, every time I go into the bathroom and shut the door, seconds later I’ll hear Tux meowing and a paw will come shooting under the door, saying “hey, hellllooooo, did you forget I’m out here, let me in!” A cat owner also knows you will never have privacy in the bathroom again.

But we’ve come to expect, and love, those little paws under the door. So why not have them everywhere as part of your decor? These quirky doorstoppers from Modcloth lend a helping paw in keeping heavy doors open, and also add a dash of cute to your home or office.

Daily Dose of Dapper: Peek-a-boo

Tux peeking out from table

Sometimes when mom and dad are getting ready for bed I’m still ready to play! So when mom was plugging in her phone to charge it the other night I secretly scooted under her bedside table. I waited until she reached down for the cord and…….popped my head out, HI MOM!!! I think I scared her a little too much.

Daily Dose of Dapper: Tea time with Tux

Tux making tea

Good news, mom seems to be feeling not so sick anymore, yay! I think it was all thanks to my excellent nursing skills. I made her tea (and even made sure it wasn’t too hot to drink) and provided lots of lap cuddles and purrs. Awhile ago I had blogged about how kitty purrs have magical healing powers and I think it worked, don’t you?

By the way, mom is drinking Rooibos Chai tea from Numi – it’s her favorite. A great caffeine-free tea option with the rich flavor of chai (and so yummy with a dash of milk and a squeeze of local honey).

And the WINNER is…

Feline Friends Friday: Help Anna Von Littles!

Anna Von Littles

One of our kitty friends was recently attacked by a loose dog and needs help covering medical costs. See her story below, and if you want to help you can visit her GoFundMe account here.

baby Anna Von Littles

This GoFundMe account is to help cover the costs of saving a good friend’s cat named Anna Von Littles. In May of 2009 five baby kittens were found on the side of a house in a pile of love with their mom, a stray. Anna was quickly adopted and given lots of love, along with her 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Anna has been an important part of our friend’s life and has kept in touch with her fur siblings over the last 5 years. On Sunday, March 15, 2015 Anna Von Littles was attacked by a loose dog in her apartment complex and was severely injured. The dog’s owner ran off without stopping and thankfully there was no kids playing in the area. Anna’s mom rushed her to the ER where she later learned Anna’s front leg and tail needed to be amputated in order for Anna to survive. Anna is still receiving treatment. These life saving procedures and nights in the animal hospital have run upwards of $6,000. Anna’s mom is a dedicated special education teacher who never asks for help or handouts as it is her nature to only give back to others. Her friends are asking for your help with the costs to #SaveVonLittles.

Cat Lady Covets: Cat Mugs

Cat mug - I love my cat

I’ve unfortunately been under the weather lately, and have been drinking tea non-stop to soothe my sore throat and stuffy nose. Tux has been looking after me though and providing lots of lap cuddles and head bumps. All of the tea I’ve been drinking got me thinking about cat mugs, and I checked to see if Urban Outfitters has gotten in any new inventory since my last cat mug post. And wow, they have a huge selection now! I’m sharing my six favorites below – which one is your favorite?
